Asmongold took his Olympus guild network on a large open-world raid in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta on Sept. 27. His two-hour video shows a long column of players moving together and attacking enemies well above their level. The group pushed through Arathi Highlands, then headed toward Menethil Harbor. A Sept. 29 account by UDN Game describes more than 1,000 participants, though Blizzard has not published an attendance figure for the event.
The most memorable moment came on the road to Menethil. Asmongold jumped from a cliff and died; many players following him jumped too. The group paused while paladins revived those who had fallen. UDN also reported heavy lag and rollbacks during the outing. Those performance claims come from coverage of the stream, not an official Blizzard incident report, so the footage should not be treated as proof that one raid caused a server-wide outage.

Olympus is much larger than the group visible in any single scene. The player-made Olympus add-on links many numbered guilds because one in-game guild holds only 1,000 characters. UDN cited an add-on tally above 45,000 members and more than 5,000 online at one point. Those are network figures reported by a third party, not a verified headcount for the march or a count of distinct people. No evidence supports the claim that tens of thousands marched together in one game layer.

Players have reacted in different ways. In a Sept. 27 Reddit discussion, some viewers praised the sight of so many people moving as a unit, while another questioned how one streamer could oversee so many guild branches. A Sept. 30 Blizzard forum thread shows the other side: some players say the crowds and recruitment messages make them want to choose a different faction or ruleset. These are individual reactions, not a survey of the player base.
Olympus has a history of turning guild activity into public events. During the 2019 WoW Classic launch, its members gathered around Asmongold for the crafting of Faerlina’s first Sulfuras and marched through Ironforge. We covered the guild’s return at the start of the Forever beta. The Sept. 27 raid shows what that growing network can organize. How well Forever handles such crowds at launch remains an open question.
