Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary is about to enter one of its most famous chapters. Blizzard has confirmed that Black Temple and The Battle for Mount Hyjal will open globally on August 27 at 3:00 p.m. PDT, or 11:00 p.m. BST. Both raids are built for level 70 players and bring back the battles against Illidan Stormrage and Archimonde.

Black Temple contains nine encounters, from High Warlord Naj'entus to Illidan himself. Players still need to complete the raid's attunement process before entering. The raid also introduces the Ashtongue Deathsworn reputation, which unlocks additional rewards inside the temple.

Mount Hyjal sends groups into the Caverns of Time for a five-boss defense of Warcraft history. Access requires completion of The Vials of Eternity questline. Players can also raise their Scale of the Sands reputation and purchase rewards from Indormi inside the instance.

The update is larger than two raids. Netherwing daily quests will arrive in Shadowmoon Valley, allowing players to work toward six Netherwing Drake mounts. Epic gems will also become available through rare Black Temple drops and high-level mining in Mount Hyjal.

Blizzard has additionally scheduled Burning Crusade Classic Arena Season 3 for September 1 with regional resets. The August 27 launch date, raid list, reputation systems, Netherwing content, and gem sources are confirmed. Any effect on realm economies or raid progression remains an expectation rather than an announced outcome. Official Blizzard announcement.
