The August 20 WoW Midnight hotfixes are now live, with a long list of Season 2 corrections and balance changes. Blizzard notes that most hotfixes take effect immediately, although some may require a realm restart. The update touches classes, dungeons, PvP, Delves, quests, items, and the Trading Post.
Season 2 dungeons receive several practical changes. Mythic difficulty lockouts for the current dungeon pool now reset daily. Murder Row requires fewer enemy forces, while Ruby Life Pools, Kings’ Rest, Temple of Sethraliss, Den of Nalorakk, and other dungeons gain mechanic, timing, damage, or visual adjustments intended to make encounters clearer and more consistent.
The PvP trinket set bonus now grants damage dealers and tanks 20% primary stat instead of 15%. Blizzard says the pace of PvP combat was slower than intended. The same hotfix package also adjusts Devourer Demon Hunter, Restoration Druid, Fire Mage, Holy and Retribution Paladin, Restoration Shaman, and Destruction Warlock in PvP.
Several class bugs were fixed as well. Marksmanship Hunters can no longer gain Precise Shots twice through a Rapid Fire timing issue, Restoration Druid’s Overgrowth should select the correct target with Soul of the Forest, and Havoc Demon Hunter’s Evasive Action should once again grant its additional Vengeful Retreat. Quest and Delve fixes address blocked progress, shared curiosities, and other Season 2 friction points.
The individual fixes and tuning values are confirmed by Blizzard. The update should make some dungeon runs easier to read and reduce avoidable failures, but that conclusion is editorial interpretation rather than a promise that every key or PvP match will become easier.
