Blizzard has announced *World of Warcraft: Forever*, the long-rumored project that players had called “Classic Plus.” It begins in the first year of the original game, but it will not simply repeat WoW’s old expansion path. Instead, Forever creates a separate timeline where classic Azeroth can grow in new directions. The game launches on November 4, 2026.
The first release keeps the level cap at 60 and adds content across the whole leveling journey. Blizzard’s trailer shows more than 1,000 new quests, new skills and talents, new items and rewards, and a new battleground called Darkspear Islands. PC Gamer, which was briefed before the reveal, reports three new zones, nine new dungeons and two new raids, along with updates to several familiar areas.
Mount Hyjal and the new Riverglades region are among the places players will explore. The design follows the pace and geography of vanilla WoW, but the world has received a visual refresh. Players can switch character models between classic and HD versions, while the expanded zones fill spaces that were empty or unreachable in the original map.
Forever also introduces the Skyborne Elves and new race-and-class combinations. Blizzard’s footage appears to show a Forsaken paladin, dwarf shaman and orc mage. Access to Forever itself is included with an active WoW subscription, while Blizzard is also selling upgrade packs; the official trailer says selected packs include beta access beginning September 17.
The launch date, level cap, new content and beta timing are confirmed by Blizzard’s trailers and briefing. The familiar label “Classic Plus” is still a community description, not the official product name. Watch the official gameplay trailer and cinematic trailer, or read PC Gamer’s reveal report.
