World of Warcraft players can stop searching for J'imothy for now. According to a message shared with the WoW Secret Finding community and reported by Icy Veins, Blizzard has confirmed that the unusual raccoon battle pet is not currently obtainable in Patch 12.1.
The clarification matters because secret hunters had already spent days following possible clues. J'imothy appears in the Pet Journal, and the entry points toward Silvermoon. The pet is learned through an item called the Stubby Whistle, which has encouraged players to search for an interaction somewhere in the city.
Datamined information also connects the mystery to Petting, Barrier Integrity, and Drain Barrier effects. These names suggest that players may eventually need to find the raccoon and free it from some kind of magical barrier. That scenario is only an interpretation of the available clues, not a confirmed solution.
There is no official release time for the secret. Some community members expect the hunt to begin after a weekly reset, but Blizzard has not announced that schedule. Players should therefore avoid spending hours testing routes or interactions until the community confirms that the pet has become active.
What is confirmed is simple: J'imothy exists, clues are already visible, and the reward is not live yet. The location, activation date, and final puzzle remain unknown. Icy Veins report and earlier Wowhead datamining.
