The Curse of Ula’tek update expands World of Warcraft’s built-in combat tools. The WoW Cooldown Manager update can now track trinkets, potions, racial abilities, and their active durations. These additions place more useful timing information in one configurable part of the interface.

The ping system is also more flexible. Players can ping spells directly from an action bar or the Cooldown Manager, making it easier to show that an important ability is ready or unavailable. Characters can ping their health, and healers can share their current mana level with the group.

Blizzard has added more places where pings work. Players can ping unit frames and useful items such as Healthstones. In a dungeon or raid, those small changes should make urgent information easier to share without typing a full message during combat.

Healers receive another practical option in the default Raid Frames. They can configure which buffs appear and hide effects they do not need to watch. A cleaner frame can make important defensive spells and healing effects easier to notice when many buffs are active at once.

All of these functions are confirmed in Blizzard’s official UI preview and Curse of Ula’tek notes. It is reasonable to expect them to reduce the need for some basic addon functions, but that is an inference, not a Blizzard promise. Advanced players may still prefer specialized addons depending on their role and setup.
